Description
Texas Summer Oxymel
Cooling, Hydrating, and Immune Boosting
Texas Summer Oxymel is a small-batch elixir that is handcrafted in Texas using locally grown, foraged, and garden-harvested herbs and fruits. It’s a refreshing herbal tonic designed to support hydration, digestion, and immune function—perfect for hot Southern summers.
Texas-Grown and Foraged Ingredients
At the heart of this blend are wild mustang grapes (Vitis mustangensis) foraged from my land. These tart, antioxidant-rich grapes give the oxymel its vibrant pink hue and offer natural support for inflammation and immune resilience.
Then with the addition of fresh cucumber (Cucumis sativus) from my garden brings cooling hydration, while garden-grown ginger root (Zingiber officinale) adds digestive warmth and circulation support. Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) enhances mental clarity and acts as a natural preservative.
Finally I’ve also added delicate elderflowers (Sambucus nigra)—known for their antiviral properties from my elderberry bush—and spearmint (Mentha spicata), catnip (Nepeta cataria), and lemon peel (Citrus limon) from my apothecary. These herbs help soothe digestion, lift the mood, and gently support detoxification.
Infused with Care
Cold-infused for 4 weeks in raw apple cider vinegar, this oxymel preserves flavor, nutrients, and herbal potency. Then further processed on warm heat with local Texas honey. The result is a tangy-sweet tonic with fruity, floral, and minty notes.
Limited Once-A-Year Batch
This is a seasonal, once-a-year offering, made only in the height of Texas summer with what’s fresh and available. Once this batch is sold, it won’t return until next year.
