Back In Black – Drawing Salve

$10.00

1 oz.

This is my natural remedy for drawing out infections, splinters, and insect bites. The activated charcoal and kaolin clay work together to draw out impurities from the skin, making them highly effective at helping to remove embedded particles and soothe irritated areas. Plantain, comfrey, and calendula are well-known for their skin-healing and anti-inflammatory properties, making them ideal for reducing swelling and promoting faster healing of wounds. Coconut oil, beeswax, and shea butter create a nourishing base that softens the skin, while raw honey adds antibacterial properties and keeps the area moisturized, aiding in the healing process. Lavender and tea tree essential oils provide additional antimicrobial and calming benefits, reducing the risk of infection and soothing any itching or discomfort. Vitamin E enhances skin repair, making this salve a natural, gentle, and effective way to care for minor skin issues. Then topped off with black obsidian.

  1. Apply liberally to infected area and cover with plastic wrap changing out the dressing every hour to every few hours.
  2. Love using this along with the Tamanu Boo-boo, Peace and Plantain and Natural Nettle.

Back in Black: Drawing Salve

Natural Relief for Infections, Splinters, and Bites

A Traditional Remedy with a Modern Twist

For centuries, herbalists and healers have turned to drawing salves like Back in Black to pull out splinters, ease insect bites, and soothe infected skin. Historical records show that similar ointments were used in North American folk medicine, often with plantain (Plantago major) and comfrey (Symphytum officinale) as key ingredients. Today, Back in Black blends this old-world wisdom with modern natural skincare research to create a safe, effective, and nourishing salve.

Powerful Detoxifying Base

Activated charcoal binds to impurities, helping draw out toxins and debris from the skin. Kaolin clay, a gentle mineral-rich clay, supports detoxification while calming inflammation. Together, these two create a potent yet skin-friendly foundation for deep cleansing.

Healing Herbs and Soothing Botanicals

  • Plantain (Plantago major) – Traditionally used for wound healing and insect stings; modern studies confirm its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity.
  • Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) – Rich in allantoin, which accelerates cell regeneration and tissue repair.
  • Calendula (Calendula officinalis) – A time-honored remedy for reducing redness, swelling, and irritation.

Nourishing, Protective Base

Coconut oil (Cocos nucifera), beeswax, and shea butter (Vitellaria paradoxa) create a protective barrier, locking in moisture and softening skin. Raw honey (Apis mellifera) adds natural antibacterial power, helping prevent infection while keeping wounds hydrated for optimal healing.

Essential Oils for Calm and Clean

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) essential oils bring additional antimicrobial, antifungal, and anti-itch benefits. Vitamin E supports skin repair and protects delicate tissue from further damage.

Enhanced with Black Obsidian

Use: Apply liberally to the affected area. Cover with plastic wrap and replace every 1–3 hours until the issue resolves.

Pairs well with Tamanu Boo-boo, Peace & Plantain, and Natural Nettle for complete natural first-aid care.
