Peace & Patchouli – Lavender and Patchouli Lotion Bar
I created Peace & Patchouli for myself years ago. I personally prefer medicinal, earthy, herbaceous aromas over florals and sweet aromas. Patchouli has been a favorite since I was a teen. I used to get only patchouli incense and candles. Now I make my own.
What My Ingredients Do
My Preferred Carriers
 – Lavender Infused Olive Oil is my solar infused herbal oil you’ll see in several products. Lavender is such a complimentary oil to patchouli it was a no brainer. Calming, soothing & reassuring.
 – Beeswax is necessary for any solids and really helps to hold in the moisture you are receiving from the butters.
 – Vitamin E Oil acts as an antioxidant which helps protect the lotion bar from rancidity and supports skin repair.
My Oils of Choice
 – Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin) is known historically as a cicatrisant, wound healing, antidepressant oil. In low doses it can act as a sedative while in high doses a stimulant. It is both grounding and balancing.
 – Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) has a sedative action on the heart and can possibly bring down blood pressure. It is analgesic therefore has the ability to relieve pain. Can promote growth of new skin cells and has its own deodorant properties.
Goes Well With
Lavender Lady lip balm, Peace & Patchouli roll on and of course Which One’s Pink salt face scrub.
Caution!
It has emmenagogue constituents so it is best to avoid during the early months of pregnancy.
