Elderberry Syrup

Price range: $13.00 through $24.00

I started making my own Elderberry Syrup in January of 2018 and have never looked back. I change up the recipe often so always read the product description and label as it may not be the same from one month to the next.

Elderberry (Sambucus nigra) an ancient history in folk medicine that spans thousands of years and multiple cultures:

  • Europe: Archaeological findings suggest elderberries were used as far back as 2,000 B.C. Seeds and remains have been found in Neolithic sites, showing they were part of early diets and remedies.
  • Hippocrates (c. 400 B.C.), often called the father of medicine, described the elder tree as his “medicine chest” because of its wide range of uses.
  • Medieval Europe: Elder was considered a sacred healing plant, used for everything from coughs and fevers to skin conditions. It was also tied to protective folklore. You can find elderflower in my Texas Summer Oxymel (almost sold out).
  • Native American traditions: Different tribes used elderberries and elder flowers for fevers, infections, rheumatism, and as general tonics.
  • Traditional European folk medicine (Middle Ages – 19th century): Elderberry was made into teas, wines, and syrups for colds, flu, inflammation, and digestive complaints.

Description

Elderberry Syrup – 4oz & 8oz

I craft my Elderberry Syrup in small batches with care, using elderberries and herbs I grow myself, locally harvest, or source from trusted suppliers. Every jar brings together tradition and wellness, made to help you and your family find balance naturally.

What I Put Into Every Batch

I blend elderberries (Sambucus nigra) with raw Texas honey, warming spices like cloves, ginger, and cinnamon, and a bright touch of lemon and orange. To deepen its support, I also add echinacea, anise, rosemary and eucalyptus leaves. These ingredients work together to create a syrup that feels as good as it tastes.

Why I Choose Elderberry

For centuries, elderberries have been trusted in folk medicine to strengthen the immune system and guide the body back toward homeostasis, that natural balance we all strive for. Modern studies show elderberries may:

  • Support a healthy immune response
  • Offer antioxidant protection against oxidative stress
  • Help the body recover during seasonal challenges
  • Promote overall wellness and vitality

By combining elderberries with honey, herbs, and spices, I create a syrup that comforts, nourishes, and supports your body through the changing seasons. *I do grow my own elderberries but not the Sambucus nigra variety so I outsource those from a few different high quality herbal co-ops.

How I Suggest Using It

I recommend 1–2 teaspoons daily for adults and 1 teaspoon for children over 2 years of age. You can take it straight, stir it into tea, or drizzle it over foods for a sweet, supportive boost.

Storing Your Syrup

Since I never use additives, emulsifiers, or preservatives, this syrup always needs to be refrigerated. Keeping it simple and pure is what makes it truly effective.

I pour my love of herbs and the wisdom of tradition into every batch of Elderberry Syrup so your family can enjoy a natural path to wellness.
